                                                          Gandhiji loved Nehru as his Son and Nehru respected Mahathma as his Father.When Gandhiji in 1942 launched ''Quit Indian Movement'' Nehru also participated and was put in Jail.In 1946 September when the interim Govt was formed as a forerunner for handing over the power.He became the Chairman.On Augest 15th 1947 when India got Freedom Nehru became the Indian Prime minister.Nehru was chosen to be the 1st Prime minister.His Speech'' Tryst with Desty''deliverd by him on the eve of Independence is memorable.He laid strong foundation of the Economic and Indusrtal Progress of the Country.Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the 1st Prime minister of India and a Great Indian Leader.He served the Country for Nearly 18 Years as Prime minister.He is also known as the Architect of Modern Indian and an apostel of World Peace.He was a statesman and an Eminent Auther.His monumentel Work'' The Discovery oF India' is a milestone in Indian Literarure.Nehru was Loved of Literature and Music.He Established ''Kendra Sahitya Academy'' and national Book Trust in Delhi to Encourage Authors.He called the irrigation Dams as temples of India.He gave fullest support to 5Year plancs to see his Country a prosperous one.He gave his men the doctrine of 'Panchaseele'While he assumed his charge as Prime Minister of India he was the minister of foreign affairs also.In 1948 he seized the princely state of Hyderabad and went to War with the Pakistan over Kashmir issue.In 1959 he dissolved the Communist Government oF Kerala State.In 1961 he seized Goa from the Portugese and in 1962 he faced Chinese aggression across the North Border.Nehru Visited China in 1954 Both Countries Signed the' Panch Sheel.'

                                                                    In 1955 Nehru was Bestowed the Meritorious Award of Bharath Ratna.Nehru Passed away on 27th May 1964 at the age of 75.He said 'I want the Cultures of all Land to be brought to my house as freely as possible.Nehru was the 1st Indian Women Primenister Indira Gandhi and Grand Father of another Primenister Rajeeve Gandhi.Nehru Like the Western Dress and Life.Nehru's  Rest Pace is Near Yamuna River in Delhi.His 'Tomb' name is Santhivanum.Jawaharlal Nehru was called Rithu-Rajan'this was offered by Revindranath Tagore.
